HEY BLUES CRUISERS:

Are you ready?!! It’s almost show time and things are looking good. Weather for Sunday is predicted to be sunny and mid-60s, a nice early autumn day. We have 95 pre-entries, which is a new record, and over 40 first-time ultra runners, our most ever. The trail has been marked with plenty of bright, orange ribbon, and the trail is in very nice condition. Overgrowth has recently been cut back, and the rain this week has the trail giving good traction, no dust. Definitely some sweet single-track! The course is an out-and-back on 15 miles of the multi-use trail which circles Blue Marsh Lake. There are a few climbs, though not too long. Some rolling hills, meadows, miles of almost flat running, nice views of the lake, a lot of forest, not many rocks, and a few roots. The trail is used by hikers, horses, runners and mountain bikers. Everyone yields to horses, bikers yield to foot traffic.

All aid stations will have water, ice, HEED, Gatorade, gels, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, turkey and cheese sandwiches, M&Ms, cookies, fruit, Vaseline, ibuprofen, Suceed! Electrolyte capsules and other snacks. Plus, each aid station will have its own visual and culinary special surprises. There will be an RN roaming the aid stations for any medical issues.
