Pagoda Pathfinders

Discover your path to improving your fitness and wellness
Did you know that exercise is dose responsive? Every bit counts! The longer of a duration you can build up to without overdoing it, while also increasing the intensity on occasion, the better results you can see. A long term consistent exercise program can:
-
Help prevent type 2 diabetes, while reducing the risk of certain cancers, and improving immune function (Rawson & Branch, 2024).
-
Help boost your mood, reduce stress, and help prevent depression (Rawson & Branch, 2024).
Come and join our group where you will have the opportunity to:
-
Learn more about some fundamentals of fitness and wellness, explore various topics including motivation and developing consistency, goal setting, basic nutrition and hydration, the difference between dynamic warm ups and static stretching, types of workouts (that can be applied to everything from walking, running, cycling, etc.), safety, recovery, race prep, investing in your journey, and more. This information is provided in weekly emails.
-
Join group workouts where no one is left behind, and create connections with others that have similar goals.
-
Participate in fun activities.
-
Join our Strava and Facebook private groups, for accountability, support, encouragement, tips, information, and inspiration.
-
Join the Pagoda Pacers group when you feel ready, providing even more social support, activities, and more as your fitness and wellness journey moves forward.
-
Thrive and develop in a community and environment geared towards you as an individual. Grow your confidence. You can do this, and we are here to help!
-
Note: None of the above is a requirement. You choose what you want to do, but active participation is encouraged.
Announcing our Fall Session for 2025!
When: Sundays from October 19 through December 7 at 10:00 am
December 14 - Shiver by the River 5K - optional
Where: Jim Dietrich's Park
4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Road
Reading, PA 19605
This fall we will be starting with a half hour "walk and talk" session, while the following optional half hour will consist of a jog or walk/jog intervals, depending on what the group is up for that day.
"No drop" policy - no one is left behind, and we stick together.
This program is free for all participants. Open to people ages 18 and up.
Here are some things past participants had to say about their experience with the program:
-
“Something I loved about the Pathfinders is that the program is meant to meet you where you are. As someone who uses run/walk intervals, I have struggled joint group runs and fun runs because I always feel like I am holding someone back because they choose to detour from their preferred pace to match mine. This is NOT the vibe of the Pathfinders program. If someone is a runner, including someone who is SLOW slow like myself, but you want to feel welcome and included, the Pathfinders is a great group to run with.” (Rachel)
-
“I feel like the program was useful and personalized to each person. It also helped get me outside and running by holding me accountable. Running at my own pace instead of trying to keep up with a big group when just starting out made it less stressful.” (Jaden)
Are you curious but not sure yet? Get a small taste and come join a group workout, where we can meet in person and talk about your current level of fitness/physical activity, what your goals are, your challenges, etc. I can also send you a small sample of the weekly informative emails.
